Camping In Scotland, Nairn, Set In A Beautiful Pine Forest By The Moray Firth
Around Nairn there is plenty to do and see:
- To the west lies Fort George, the mightiest artillery fortification in Britain. It contains the Seafield Collection of arms and military equipment. Nearby is the battlefield of Culloden where there is a Visitor Centre.
- Catch a bus from the site to the "Capital of the Highlands" -Inverness. The excellent amenities compliment the fine buildings and attractive riverside walks.
- Beautiful Loch Ness has a prehistoric monster - or does it?
- To the south is Cawdor Castle -a fairy tale castle sitting in extensive grounds.
- To the east, the A96 runs past the Boath Doocot at Auldearn and Brodie Castle to reach Forres. Here you'll find a Witches' Stone and the Pictish Sueno Stone.
- Nairn, on the Moray Firth, provides local services as well as miles of sandy beaches. Dolphins are often seen in the waters of the Firth. To the east of the town is Culbin Forest which has waymarked trails and cycle paths. The nearby RSPB Culbin Sands Nature Reserve, stretches 5V2 miles to Findhorn Bay.
- Around the site are many beautiful walks, and quiet roads for cycling. River and sea fishing are available nearby and the smaller lochs provide the fisherman with rainbow and brown trout. There are over 30 golf courses within an hour's drive.
- Ask the site staff about the summer 'hoolies' in Inverness.

The ideal way to see this area is to indulge in motorhome hire.
By doing so you can explore at your leisure and 'wild camp' if you like or find a wonderful campsite such as this one. If you wish to do this, there are many motor home hire companies throughout the UK who can supply campervans, motorhomes or even large american RVs.
Typically their motorhomes are less than 12 months old and are easy to drive.
One company with the best range of vehicles is Motorhomes Direct in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs.
Motorhomes Direct can deliver motorhomes to any destination you wish. They do this ingeniously by using one driver, but towing a SmartCar behind the motorhome. Once they reach their destination, they simply unhook the SmartCar and then drive that back to the depot in Stoke-on-Trent.
You can get more information from their web site, http://www.motorhomesdirect.co.uk
